Wichita Symphony Presents Classics I: The Rite of Spring

Oboist Andréa E. Banke, Clarinetist Sarunas Jankauskas, and Hornist Erika Binsley perform this next weekend with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra in the first Classics concert of the year, October 12 and 13, 2013.

Lieurance Oboist Andréa E. Banke to be featured in a Wichita Art Museum "Art Chatter" event, Friday October 4, 2013. Her talk, entitled "Knives and Razor Blades: The Secret Life of an Oboist" will take you on a journey into the depths of the oboists constant quest for the perfect reed.

Wichita creative types - artists, musicians, designers - give short, illustrated talks about a range of subjects. Strap in for this thought cocktail on a Friday night. Due to the rave success, the program moves into a new space to accommodate the crowd. Featured presenters include ceramist Ted Adler, oboist Andréa E. Banke, jazz band director Lisa Hittle, lighting designer David Neville, art director Sandra Denneler, and curator Jodi Throckmorton.
